“One Belt, One Road” Scholarship 2017

English-language Chinese Medicine Undergraduate Program

Application Information

 

    The Beijing Municipal Education Commission has specially launched the “One Belt, One Road” scholarship for international students studying in Beijing as part of the implementation of the China Ministry of Education’s “One Belt, One Road Education Program”. Beijing University of Chinese Medicine is selected as one of the universities in this program and all eligible incoming freshmen for 2017 are welcomed to apply for this scholarship.

 

1. Nationality eligibility: Countries under the “One Belt, One Road” initiative (please see attachment 1 for list of countries)

 

2. Course of study: Undergraduate Program of Chinese Medicine (including Acupuncture) taught in English

3. Eligibility criteria:

   a. Preferably below 30 years of age, physically and mentally healthy
   b. No criminal record
   c. High school or above academic qualifications

 

4. Number of scholarships: 12

 

5. Value of award: 20,000 CNY/ academic year (Tuition fee for English language undergraduate program is 45,000 CNY/ academic year)

 

6. Duration of award: 5 years (from enrollment in 2017 until the end of the 5 years of undergraduate study)

 

7. Application method: Submit the admission application documents for all eligible freshmen. The International School management team will access and appraise the documents, and decide the list of scholarship recipients based on the appraisal.

 

8. Application documents:

   a. Compulsory documents

   1) Photocopy of passport and visa
   2) BUCM Application Form for International Students (please see attachment 2)
   3) Photocopies of the applicant’s highest academic qualifications, certificates and transcripts

   4）Personal video (about 5 minutes of self-introduction in English)
   5）Letter of guarantee during stay in China and a photocopy of the identity card of the guarantor (for applicants below 18 years old) (please see    attachment 3)

   6）Health Certificate

   b. Optional documents

   1) Personal statement
   2) Recommendation letter from faculty members
   3) Relevant certificates for talents and skills (level certificates or award certificates)
   4) English language proficiency certificates: TOEFL, IELTS

Note: International students who are recipients of the Chinese Government Scholarship, other China Scholarships or other forms of scholarship or financial aid are not eligible for this scholarship.
