The Integrative Western Medicine and Chinese Medicine Major

1. Objectives

The objectives of the program are to train competent and compassionate physicians who will address the health care needs of individuals, families, and communities through integrative medical approaches. 

2. Description

The integrative Bachelor of Medicine degree is a five-year program that provides comprehensive preparation for further graduate medical training in any specialty, including both conventional western medicine and Chinese medicine.

4. Key Features

Competency-based

Curriculum design and assessment methods are linked with graduation competencies, educational program objectives, and course objectives.

Integrative

An integrative block curriculum weaves content in conventional western medicine and Chinese medicine around multi-disciplinary themes and common clinical presentations.

Student-centered

The student centered design in teaching and learning assure the student with both positive interdependence and individual accountability.

5. Tuition and Fees

The tuition is 35000 RMB and 45000RMB respectively for Chinese and English program.

6.   Admission Requirements

We strongly recommend that students pursue a 3 to 4 year undergraduate curriculum or completion of courses listed below before entering BUCM for Integrative Western and Chinese Medicine Bachelor degree program. The required courses include:

General Chemistry, one year with laboratory 

Organic Chemistry, minimum of two quarters

Physics, one year with laboratory

General Biology, one year with laboratory, including the study of vertebrate zoology
